Employee Spotlight – Mike Wilton

Mike Wilton has worked for Paramount for 10 years now. He is a senior programmer in our IT department and is a vital component of our team. We recently sat down with Mike to get to know him a little better and get his feelings about working at Paramount. Below are his answers…

How old are you? Are you married and how many kids do you have? I am 39 years old. Married and have 4 awesome kids. 

Where is your favorite place to travel? My favorite place to travel is San Luis Obispo, California 

What is the best concert you have ever been to? The absolute best concert has to be the UB40 concert. 

What was the last book you read? The last book I read was The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. I loved it. I would highly recommend it. 

Who are the people that inspire you? I am inspired by people like Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and Ryan Holiday. 

What are some of your favorite movies? My favorite movies include The Goonies, Tombstone, and Tron: Legacy 

What was the last thing you watched on Netflix? Lost in Space 

Favorite part of your job? Definitely has to be the people I work with. We have a great team. 

One place in the world you would like to visit someday? Ireland for sure

Favorite family tradition? Our yearly family reunions 

3 words to describe a typical work week at Paramount? Unpredictable, rewarding, and challenging 

What was your first job as a kid/teenager? I was a messenger for a law firm in downtown Honolulu. I delivered documents to other firms and businesses in the downtown area, as well as filing documents with the courts. It was awesome! 

If you had to eat one type of food for the rest of your life what would it be? Hawaiian food for sure 

What is a random or weird habit you have? If there is a pencil or pen in my hand, I have to spin it in my fingers. 

If you could do one other job (outside of our industry) for one day what would it be? I would coach a high school volleyball team

If you won the lottery tomorrow, what would be the FIRST thing you would buy? Tesla Model 3
