Employee Spotlight – Sally Akiona
We are so excited to introduce you to Sally Aikona. Sally is our Vice President of Operations and has been with Paramount for 30 YEARS! She is one of the most hardworking and kind people within our organization. We recently sat down with Sally and asked her some questions so we could all get to know her a little better.
How old are you? Are you married? And how many kids do you have? I’m 48 years old. I am happily married and we have 3 boys.
Where is your favorite place to travel? We love traveling to Hawaii
What is the best concert you have ever been to? Def Leppard was by far the best
What was the last book you read? Predictable Success. It was a great read.
Who inspires you? My Father. He is the kindest, gentlest person I have ever known. He has a quiet strong presence.
What is your favorite movie? Steele Magnolias
What was the last thing you watched on Netflix? Secretariat. It was pretty good.
Favorite part of your job? I love coaching our employees and watching them succeed. There is nothing better.
Where is the one place in the world that you would like to visit one day? China. I think it would be awesome.
Favorite family tradition? On Christmas Eve we play BINGO. It is my favorite thing.
3 Words to describe a typical work week at Paramount? Busy, Challenging, Gratifying
What was your first job as a teenager/kid? Well, I have been working at Paramount since I was 18 but before that I did work concessions at a movie theatre.
If you had to eat one type of food for the rest of your life what would it be? I would for sure choose Mexican.
What is a random or weird habit you have? I am a serial winker. I wink at everyone. haha
If you could have dinner with 3 people (dead or alive) who would they be? Ronald Reagan, Abraham Lincoln, and Amelia Earhart. If you can’t tell I love historical figures.
Which historical event do you wish you could have witnessed? The signing of the Emancipation Proclamation
If you could do one other job (outside our industry) for one day what would it be? It would have to be a Sports Commentator. I think it would be really fun.
If you won the lottery tomorrow, what would be the first thing you would buy? A House!
Lastly, in the last 30 years what has been your favorite memory of working at Paramount? I don’t know. There are too many to choose from. I have loved working with so many great people over the years. It’s been awesome!
