Holiday Offers that will Drive People Through Your Gym Doors
The Holidays are finally here, and for gym owners, that means the busiest time of the year has started. Over the next few weeks, thousands of people will flood gyms thanks to New Year’s resolutions, and just as quickly many of them will quit coming back. The question of whether or not people are looking for new gyms is a moot one – as long as there are New Year’s resolutions, there will be people looking for gyms to fit their goals. The question is, however, how your gym can stand out from the crowd and attract new members during this time.
One of the most popular ways to attract these new members and drive people through your doors is with Holiday offers. The only drawback here is that, of course, all gyms are running Holiday offers. So we’ve pulled together a quick list of Holiday campaigns that are sure to drive new members through your doors this season:
Registration deadlines
When it comes to spurring your potential members into action, nothing works as well as a registration deadline. This type of campaign urges new members to register by a certain date (aka, Dec. 31st) to qualify for a promotion. This promotion can be anything from a free month membership to a prize pack.
The most important thing to remember when it comes to these registration deadlines campaigns is promotion. In order to actually get people to sign up before the deadline, you need to promote your campaign. Go all-out on all channels. Email, social, and direct mail marketing are all great with promotions like this since they have a greater chance of actually sticking in people’s mind.
Referral perks
This next offer idea is perfect if you have a core group of members who want to see some New Year perks at your gym. This promotional campaign would give a member (regardless if they’re new to your gym or if they’ve been there a while) a free month when they refer a friend to your gym.
Referral offers work for two reasons. First, they give your current members a chance to capitalize on a season that typically rewards new gym goers. Your members will appreciate this quick ‘thank you’ and feel valued and supported by your team. Second, it’s a great low-pressure way for new members to join your gym with a friend. Joining a gym can be daunting, and joining with a friend can provide a built-in support system right off the bat.
Class-based promotions
If your gym is more class-based rather than membership-based, you can run a Holiday promotion where if a member purchases a certain number of classes or sessions, they would get a certain number free. This is perfect for new members and current members. Class packages also make great gifts, which can increase conversions as well.
Class-based promotions are also a good way to carry Holiday offers over throughout the first few months of the new year. If members attend a certain number of classes in a specific time period, such as 5 classes in a week or something, they will receive a set number of classes free.
Are you ready for the Holiday rush?
While Black Friday has come and gone, the busy season is still in full swing. Make sure your marketing campaigns are ready and your employees are up to the challenge to make this New Year the most successful one yet.
